Mandatory Parenting Classes
The Illinois Supreme Court mandates all parents involved in a Divorce, Custody, Visitation or Paternity dispute, where children under 18 are involved, attend a parenting class. The specifics of the class varies by county. The Court will not complete your case until all parties have complied.
- DuPage County Mandatory Parenting Class
- Will County Mandatory Parenting Class
- Cook County now offers a choice between taking court-ordered parenting classes either through the on-line Children in Between Online (CIBO) program or through the traditional classroom format, Focus on the Children, presented by the court's Marriage and Family Counseling Service at several court locations. You must have a court order to attend Focus on the Children. If you have been ordered to attend mediation or emergency intervention, the Court will require that you complete this program even if you have already completed Children in Between Online. You must complete the Focus on Children program before you can attend mediation. The links for additional information on both programs are below.
